Normally each year on Mother's Day, we go out and buy flowers for the porch and yard, get bedding plants for the garden and herbs for the porch. We would spend the whole day out in the Sunshine planting and having a great time. This year will be spent very differently, here at our new place, in a new state. We will go to my Mother's and bring her some flowers and possibly go swimming in the pool there. It will be kind of a quiet relaxed day for us this year.
This year we are facing the fact that we may possibly be homeless in the next few weeks. You know, most of us live paycheck to paycheck, that is just how it works here in the USA and if something happens and one of those paychecks does not come, well then some are out on the street. We have been through a lot in the past 4 months and this also comes as no surprise to us. I am perfectly cool living without a roof over our heads and no real walls, no protection or security. People do it all the time. There were 20,000 people that were homeless in the state of Arizona in the year 2006, those known in the "system". I can't even imagine what that number is today in 2008. Families are loosing their homes at drastic rates and loosing their jobs as well. There is just not enough money to go around for many families.
David is working the only job that he could find. It is a part time gig and they just cut his hours to 15 per week. Yes, that's right. A family let alone 1 person cannot live on that alone. We are both sending out his resume sometimes many each day, but he is having no luck. People do not want to hire someone with a ton of experience, they would rather pay someone that they can train and pay much less money to. So we are starting our own painting business here in Southern Arizona, this we can do together and have had great success doing in the past. So if you are living in S. AZ and need a painter, let us know. I will continue to do my Raw Foods Coaching and writing for as long as I have my desktop on a desk. lol I do wonder if they have programs for homeless to get laptops. Humn.. lol I will work at my computer for as long as possible. I will forever contiune with Practicing my beloved Reiki, always sending to those in need. Then I will be way too busy Raising Alex and making sure he does not get into any spiders, bugs or snakes that will harm him. EEEeeeeWWWwwww. Snakes make me crazy....
Like I said I am cool with living in a tent, as this is our back up plan at this time. I have done it once before and looks like we may possibly do it once again. However that was years ago with no child to worry about. It will be getting very HOT here in the desert and it will not be very comfortable at all!
I even went to the food bank, dragging my feet all the way because it was a very uncomfortable thing for me to do. They had very little there for anyone, let alone people that eat natural, whole, raw foods. They had a few "fake food" items, like canned food, crackers in a box, cereal and bread. None of which we could eat. They were able to give us celery and sent 5 heads home with us. They all looked very bad, but I thought I could salvage some of the inner staulks, but when I got it home it was soooo gross I threw it away. I am having a hard time wrapping my head around that fact that when people in need go to a food bank, they walk out with nothing but dead, radiated, GMO foods. Nope not me, I will continue to forage for our food and purchase what we can.
If it was not for my friend and sister, Aleesha and her family we would have been out in the hot sand many weeks ago. I respect, appreciate and we are so grateful to them for all they have done for us. WE LOVE YOU! Thank you for being a true, kind, loving and giving friend.
So in this moment we will be grateful for what we have and take each day as it comes. We will live right now in this present moment. We are happy and all together, we love each other. We are family and nothing can ruin that. We always treat each other with respect, because one never knows what may happen tomorrow. One day at a time.
Raw Love, Melissa

You will not be homeless! I won't allow it. Folks here's the deal. We are sending Melissa and her family as money as we can spare every paycheque we receive. I just pop it into her paypal account and she can use it to buy food, pay rent, fuel etc.
I invite you all to join me. Think of how far Melissa can make $20 go! That's a day or two of food for her family... so come on... please join us in assisting them in this time of need.
It takes a community to raise a child... let's pull together today!
Her paypal account is: loverawlife@gmail.com

Michelle
Thank you so much.
I appreciate both of you.
Thank you
Raw Love
Melissa
I too have very little money...I work 18 hrs a week at minimum wage and as a mother of a young daughter this makes it difficult to survive on raw. I would recommend going to Social Services b/c they have emergency food stamps that can be given right away and then you can keep getting them for as long as you need. This is the only way to get raw foods. I too have tried food pantries and can't eat any of it. GOod luck! Manifest what you need.
